Fellowes Farm understands the importance of a close working relationship with local farriers and therefore the practice has always been keen to involve and work closely with farriers in the treatment and management of appropriate orthopaedic cases. Close communication via the telephone, farriery prescriptions and face to face meetings ensure a team approach to provide the best of care for your horse.
Remedial shoeing is extensively used and makes a significant contribution to the successful treatment of a variety of orthopaedic and lameness cases. We work closely with local farriers and are happy to discuss any problems with them to ensure a smooth treatment plan for your horse.
Tom Ryan FWCF has provided specialist remedial farriery services to Fellowes Farm Equine Clinic for over 20 years and attends the clinic weekly on a Wednesday for a specialist remedial farriery clinic and works closely with our orthopaedic vet David Rutherford.
